The Senior Voice(Lead) Engineer is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation and support of the local and wide area networks at BofI. The responsibilities include continuous testing and evaluating of the existing Voice network infrastructure to ensure proper performance and maximum uptime. The position will assist in the global day-to-day troubleshooting and support of BofI local and wide area Voice networks. The individual must be a proven self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks with very little supervision. Support new project Implementations within project scope and schedule. Provide Help Desk Level 2 support and any other duties as assigned. In addition, they must be able to perform the following:

    • Configuration of Cisco voice infrastructure utilizing Cisco Provisioning Manager and Cisco Unity Connection Voicemail system
    • Work with the Infrastructure team to deliver business critical projects and maintain high levels of service
    • Detailed evaluation of existing Voice and Data infrastructure
    • Assembly, installation and configuration of Cisco voice and network equipment
    • Experience with a variety of Cisco Call Manager revisions and Cisco Unity Voicemail system
    • Planning, implementation and management of Cisco Jabber, Meeting Place and Meeting Place Express
    • Work with other IT team members to fulfill a Cisco Voice Engineer role, and schedule and prioritize activities on projects involving the deployment of application and software
    • Manage an IP Telephony refresh and rollout of VoIP phones across the enterprise
    • Documentation and evaluation of existing Voice and Data infrastructure
    • Integral role in the engineering department responsible for the production Data and VoIP networks consisting of multiple interconnected locations
    • Planning, Designing and Implementation of major Voice and Data Network Upgrades
    • Analysis, testing, documentation, implementation and support of global data technologies
    • Participate in office relocations, expansions, and other infrastructure changes
    • Work closely with OCEO to support any technical evaluations of telephony related technologies
    • Assist in the design and development of network implementations
    • Perform all required operational maintenance and troubleshooting of supported systems
    • Participate in disaster recovery planning, development, exercises and actual events
    • Evaluate and test software changes and updates supplied by vendors, prior to installation
    • Work with vendors, application developers, database administrators, corporate IT, and other technology groups to resolve any problems
    • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of all supported systems to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and requirements
    • Develop assessment reports
    • Maintain proper change management documentation for all hardware and software modifications
    • Develop and implement standards and operating procedures
    • Provide reliable 24/7 support for all the facilities within client's service territory
    • Report progress to supervisor and project managers, including the preparation of weekly status reports
    • Documenting network deployment and maintaining up-to-date network diagrams
    • Support, monitor, configure, implement and document current local and wide area networks (including both physical and logical structures) within the BofI environment
    • Troubleshoot and manage calls/tickets from the technical services group and assist with network administration
    • Help provide technical direction to the company in the LAN/WAN environment and provide project management or assistance for network related initiatives
    • Work with the Security Team to create and maintain a secure infrastructure
    • Provide analysis of network configuration and related documentation. Monitor systems for network alerts and events so quick response can be provided and issues can be proactively addressed
    • Ensure all IT equipment complies with industry and regulatory standards
    • Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve faults in the operational network
    • Ensure routine preventative maintenance and license compliance is performed
    • Maintain relationship with vendors, consultants and ensure that network standards and deliverables are met
    • Produce reports and perform additional tasks as assigned
    • Plan, install, and setup physical and virtual servers to meet application, security, and regulatory requirements
    • Load balancing configuration, management, security and deployments with BiglP FS and A 1 O Network Products
    • Document production systems for security, capacity, and usage
    • Maintain existing servers and clients using available administration tools
    • Monitor servers and their usage and capacity to minimize problems and outages
    • Maintain the process involved in administration, maintenance, security, backup, and recovery
    • Work with technical support, communications support, and vendors to resolve problems
    • In coordination with COE, troubleshoot production issues that may directly impact banking customer experience and technical production incidents
    • Work to expand security knowledge of banking and workgroup software and to maintain current in network, mainframe, client server, and internet/intranet platforms
    • Documenting policies, processes and procedures of new and existing duties
    • Reviewing Cloud technologies for Infrastructure solution alternatives
    • Implementing/supporting routing protocols BGP, OSPF, & EIGRP
    • Implementing/supporting  layer 2 protocols RSTP and vPC
    • Implementing and supporting Cisco DMVPN, IPSEC,SSL VPN, GRE
    • Network monitoring and troubleshooting - SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco Prime, Wireshark
    • Implementing and supporting Cisco routers 3900/4000/ASR series routers; Cisco Catalyst switches – 3750,3850, 4500, 6500; Cisco Nexus switches - 2K, 5K, 7K, 9K
    • Implementing and supporting DNS, SNMP, RADIUS, TACACS ,SYSLOG and access control list (ACLs), VRF, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing, Class of Service (CoS), Quality of Service (QoS) and IP routing
    • Designing, provisioning and troubleshooting of WAN and LAN connectivity technologies
    • Implementing and supporting Load Balancer (LTM/GTM) technologies (F5 preferred) and WAN Acceleration technologies

Desired Career Experience & Education Requirements:

  • 5 years related experience
  • Extensive knowledge of subnetting
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols BGP, OSPF, & EIGRP, layer 2 protocols RSTP and vPC
  • Network monitoring and troubleshooting - SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco Prime, Wireshark
  • Extensive knowledge of:

      • Cisco routers 3900/4000/ASR series routers
      • Cisco Catalyst switches – 3750,3850, 4500, 6500
      • Cisco Nexus switches - 2K, 5K, 7K, 9K
      • implementing and supporting DNS, SNMP, RADIUS, TACACS ,SYSLO

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field 
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Voice), Network Administrator
