Mortgage Consultants in the Builder Lending Division are primarily responsible for originating new residential purchase mortgage loans with a focus on Homebuilder referrals.

In doing so they need to be able to perform numerous tasks, these tasks include,  but are not limited to, responding to customers via phone or email, analyzing credit requirements of the borrower, working with Realtors/home builders/referral partners and protecting the Banks future interest.

 

The following items below list the numerous characteristics and tasks that the Mortgage Loan Originator needs to portray every day:

  • Consult with home purchase clients about current and future needs to help them achieve their financial/homeownership goals
  • Identify and construct lending solutions based on unique homeownership goals
  • Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine preliminary home loan eligibility
  • Solicit Homebuilders and develop an ongoing partnership
  • Solicit Realtors for referral partnerships and develop a Realtor referral based prospect source
  • Actively manage purchase leads and meet minimum conversion (lead to fund) requirements
  • Educate clients on various types of loans and credit options
  • Complete purchase loan applications, interest rate locks and move files into processing and underwriting
  • Provide exceptional service through the loan process from application to closing
  • Establish trust and build rapport with clients/Builders/referral partners
  • Stay informed of available loan types and other financial services and products in order to better meet customers' needs
  • Follow all Bank policies, procedures and guidelines

  • Mortgage origination
  • Nationwide Mortgage guidelines
  • Sales experience
  • Existing Builder relationships

Preferred:

  • College degree

 

Job Functions and Work Environment:
