Compliance Programs

  • Participates with the VP Lending Compliance Manager (VP LCM) in the development and direction of the overall compliance oversight program for all credit products, appropriate regulations, rules and regulatory guidance
  • Participates in the continual review and improvement of compliance oversight programs for lending products offered by the Bank
  • Coordinates with VP LCM and other team members his/her ideas and recommendations for enhancement of areas which may influence regulatory compliance
  • Directs activities of the Compliance Specialists
  • Assumes management of the Lending Compliance Team in the absence of the VP LCM
  • Special Projects as may be assigned by the VP LCM

 

Planning & Development

  • Develop digital data reports from information available within the loan systems to aid in spotting negative trends
  • Under the direction of the VP LCM plans, develops, oversees, and conducts scheduled compliance reviews, risk assessments, compliance monitoring processes  
  • Engages with Business Unit Managers to evaluate company-wide compliance within the various lending activities, remediation of compliance reviews, regulatory examinations and internal or external audit findings  
  • Coordinates implementation of appropriate Compliance follow-up actions
  • Prepares reports and analysis as needed or requested by the VP LCM
  • Develops digital data reports from information available within the loan systems to aid in spotting negative trends in high risk areas
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for the business units by  responding to queries by the Bank staff either through SharePoint Compliance Requests, direct inquiry by the business unit, informational meetings or assigned task force participation
  • Consults with VP LCM, legal counsel, regulatory agencies, vendors and compliance organizations, as needed
  • Prepares written reports detailing findings and recommendations for changes or enhancement to policies, procedures and work flow
  • Continually reviews proposed and/or existing procedures, business processes and control owner planning to ensure they meet corporate standards and coordinate with appropriate business units where changes are necessary
  • Typically participates in determining objectives of and approaches to assignments

    Analyzing
  • Analyzes, summarizes and communicates current regulatory compliance developments to VP LCM and coordinates with other team member and business unit efforts to ensure policies, procedures, forms and training meet all new and amended requirements and deadlines
  • Analyzes and communicates compliance requirements for new or revised products, services, systems to Business Units
  • Consults with legal counsel, regulatory agencies, vendors and compliance organizations, as needed

 

Indirect Management

  • Indirectly manages the compliance efforts within the various business lines by partnering with the business unit managers to ensure appropriate resources are directed to compliance issues
  • Supports Bank's efforts on all corporate compliance audits and OCC compliance examinations, including advance preparation, coordination of all information gathering between business units during the audit/exam

Key Skill Sets or Knowledge Requirements:

  • Flexible, able to work on multiple projects that may require restructuring due to shifting demands and changing priorities within a multi-billion $ bank
  • Ability to identify and define problems with documentation, loan origination systems, internal processes and procedures; research and analyze information and various situations relating to data management issues
  • Able to recommend alternatives or solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to include presentation skills
  • Work well independently
  • Knack for thinking outside the box problem resolutions
  • Personal computer skills to include proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and network environments

Desired Career Experience & Education Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in banking compliance
  • Significant experience with mortgage lending and associated regulations (TILA, RESPA, FCRA, Flood, TRID, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Experience with consumer and auto lending
