BofI Summer 2018 Internship Program!



Real-world job experience, hourly pay, work with cutting edge technology, access to BofI Federal Bank’s Fitness Center.

Cohort Orientation: All interns start on the same day!

Project Scope: Each intern is assigned to a specific business unit, serving as an extension of the classroom experience, which contributes value to BofI Federal Bank.

Development: All interns are assigned a mentor inside the business unit they work in.  Interns are provided with professional development by working directly with an experienced manager.  During the program interns will receive 2 performance reviews from their manager (program midpoint & program end) providing feedback on growth opportunities.  Business areas seeking interns include: Credit, Deposits, and Lending.  Potential for internship extension into the Fall program.

Lunch & Learn Events: Interns attend lunch events at corporate headquarters to learn about the business areas and current trends in the industry.  Event speakers include bank CEO, Senior Leadership, as well as professionals within specific business units.

Project Presentation: Interns work collaboratively during the program on a capstone project to add value to the bank and present findings to leadership.

Intern Schedule: Monday through Thursday

9:00AM – 3:30PM & Fridays 9:00AM – 2:00PM


Hourly Pay: Our interns receive hourly pay.

Fitness Center Membership: Interns receive free membership at our on-site fitness center.

Key Skill Sets or Knowledge Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking, analytical ability, and "out of the box" thinking
  • Comfort with fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task, self-manage work assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills including all MS Office systems
  • ​Familiar with basics of financial analysis: income & expenses, tax records and general real estate principals

Desired Career Experience & Education Requirements:

  •  No work experience required


  • Pursuing a four year degree from an accredited University with a concentration and/or internship in finance, economics, business, or related field
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.2

Job Functions and Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity and coordination are required while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard and mouse, calculator, telephone, copiers, etc.
