    We are looking for a Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Loan Operations Administrator with the primary function of performing complex and administrative tasks of loan intake, processing and closing of the commercial real estate and commercial construction loans.  These functions also include working with loan officers, underwriters, analysts and in-house and outside legal counsel.  Job skills and knowledge needed listed below:  


    • Comprehensive understanding of commercial lending principals including real estate transactions and  construction loan structure
    • Review of closing checklists and needs lists associated with commercial and real estate loan products
    • Assist with collection of documents required from borrowers including, borrower and guarantor tax returns, personal financial statements,  tax verifications and Environmental Questionnaires
    • Creation of borrower and guarantor profiles within banking systems of record; work with customer service bank personnel to establish requisite deposit accounts, and interest reserve accounts
    • Obtain and review borrower and guarantor entity documents including Articles of Incorporation and Organization (Corporations and LLCs), Bylaws and Operating Agreements, organizational charts, and internal bank forms requiring borrower signatures; obtain and/or work with outside counsel to order Good standing certifications within required timelines
    • Perform required compliance on all borrower/ guarantor entities and individuals, including, but not limited to, OFAC Searches, tax identification verification
    • Confirmation of Borrower collateral location; ordering and tracking of third party reports including: Preliminary Title reports, Proformas and Title Commitments, Flood Certifications, Environmental Assessments (Phase I and II reports)Review of Title reports
    • Understanding of title exceptions and title policy coverage including required endorsements
    • File management; checklist management and legal document control
    • Continuous communication with team members including loan officers, loan underwriters, in-house counsel and analysts regarding status of documents and closing status
    • Onboarding of preliminary information into various bank systems for pre-closing, closing, and funding
    • Review of Loan Approvals ("CAM") forms, including reviews of covenants required to close, loan documentation exceptions, required covenants for financial reviews and calendaring of specific target dates (for loan administration purposes)
    • Review of loan documents to insure compliance with bank policies, procedures and approvals
    • Ability to work within systems of record for boarding and final boarding
    • Coordinate and collection of original executed loan documentation, requisite insurance, required ancillary closing documents; coordination of bank system funding of loans; preparation of boarding
    • Assist with department development and training
    • Compliance with all BofI internal procedures and policies; understanding of banking regulations and completion of compliance modules on an annual basis

    Key Skill Sets or Knowledge Requirements:

    • Strong writing skills for professional level correspondence
    • Strong math skills required for calculations of settlement statements, payoff demand statements etc
    • Systems required are Word, Outlook, Excel
    • Bank systems knowledge including Jack Henry, Metavante and/or construction funding programs
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently within a strong team environment and the ability to self-direct    

    Desired Career Experience & Education Requirements:

    • 2+ years experience as a commercial real estate loan administrator, loan operations administrator, real estate paralegal or related commercial or real estate experience 
    • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience


    Job Functions & Work Environment:


    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity and coordination are required while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard and mouse, calculator, telephone, copiers, etc.
