    The Senior Database Engineer must be proficient in all aspects related to Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012R2, SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016 design, build and implementation tasks. They must  support new project Implementations within project scope and schedule. Provide Help Desk Level 2 support and any other duties as assigned.


    Key Skill Sets or Knowledge Requirements:

    • Plan, install, and setup physical and virtual SQL servers to meet application, security, and regulatory requirements
    • Configure, tune, monitor, and maintain all current supported SQL instances and Applications
    • Audit production systems for security, capacity, and usage
    • Schedule and prioritize activities on projects involving the deployment of application and software
    • Maintain existing servers and clients using available administration tools
    • Monitor and troubleshoot servers and their usage and capacity to minimize problems and outages
    • Define, develop, implement, and maintain the process involved in administration, maintenance, security, backup, and recovery
    • Proactively work with technical support, communications support, and vendors to resolve problems
    • Work to expand knowledge of banking and workgroup software and to maintain current in network, mainframe, client server, and internet/intranet platforms
    • Experience with content migration between SQL Server 2008/R2 and SQL Server 2012/2014/2016
    • Configure AlwaysOn Availability Cluster, Replication, Log Shipping for high availability for production databases
    • Involvement with Large Data Warehouse Database Backup and Restore for Disaster Recovery

    • Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Performance Monitoring and SQL Profiler

    • Understanding in handling SQL Server unexpected downtimes

    • Experience in Systems / Database Analysis, Design and Modeling

    • Capability in Development of DTS and SSIS / ETL Packages

    • Strong coding skills in T-SQL, triggers, views, functions, and stored procedures
    • Experience in SQL Azure Administration on Cloud Computing
    • Knowledge in SAN/NAS (EMC storage) and Enterprise Backup (EMC Avamar) or equivalent backup solution
    • Documenting policies, processes and procedures of new and existing duties
    • Have a thorough understanding of Active Directory 2008/2012, DFS, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy Management, MS SQL and Operational experience.
    • Prior involvement in complex projects with new implementations and existing upgrades involving enterprise applications
    • Use of enterprise database backup, archiving, management, protection and recovery tools
    • Extensive experience with Microsoft Server and System Administration

    Desired Career Experience & Education Requirements:

    • High School diploma 


    • ITIL Version Certified 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Database Administrator
